    Central Asian Tortoises, also called Steppe Tortoises, are extremely territorial. They exhibit sexual dimorphism, where females are larger than males. They are the only tortoises in the Testudo genus that have only 4 toes on their forelimbs, instead of 5 toes.

    An oviparous species that lays 2 to 6 eggs. It reaches sexual maturity at 10 years of age and the mating season occurs between March and June.

    Native to Central Asia, from the countries: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
